EMI Releasing Croc Hunter Memorial DVD

10 Oct, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf

The Crocodile Hunter's legacy is alive on DVD.

EMI Music Nov. 14 will release He Changed Our World, a DVD that will include the memorial tribute service to the late Steve Irwin held in Australia after the cable TV star and wildlife conservationist's untimely death last month.

Royalties from the DVD will go to Irwin's Wildlife Warriors fund to help carry on his work with endangered species' habitat protection. Some proceeds also will go to running Irwin's Australian wildlife hospital.

The DVD also includes an interview with Irwin and his family about their projects.

Everyone who participated in the memorial service gave permission to be included in the DVD release, said Irwin's producer/manager John Stainton, who put the service together.

"I'm sure [Steve] would be honored to know that his loyal supporters will have their own memory to keep," Stainton said.

John O'Donnell, managing director of EMI Music Australia, said it is an honor for EMI to put the DVD out.

"It's important to us that the work of such an iconic Australian and his passion for wildlife is not only remembered, but is able to live on," O'Donnell said.
