EMI Music Gears Up for DVD-Audio With Al Green and Leon Russell Retros in December10 Oct, 2001 By: Hive News
EMI Music Distribution is gearing up for a slate ofDVD-Audio titles, primarily from catalog.
While the company has numerous new releasesavailable, these will be the first to come from its vaults.
The first three titles in the series, culled from various labels, are slated for release in December: Al Green -- Greatest Hits; Leon Russell -- Retrospective and Eric Johnson -- Ah ViaMusicom. Other key catalog titles will follow on DVD.
"We are excited to build sales for our artists and for retail by opening our wonderful catalog to this new music format," said RichardCottrell, president, EMI Music Distribution.
"The superior sound quality of DVD-Audio gives music fans an outstanding music experience," said Jay Samit, senior v.p. of new media for EMI Recorded Music. "Panasonic'stechnical leadership has greatly aided EMI in bringing these new titles to the market."
