EMA Seeks Top Retailer Nominees14 May, 2007 By: Jessica Wolf
Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA) group the Independent Dealers of Entertainment Association (IDEA) are looking for a few good retailers.
IDEA is officially accepting nominations for this year's top-retailer categories of independent video store (single-store operations); small chain video stores (2-4 stores); and mid-sized video store chain (5-49 stores).
The winners will be announced at EMA's Home Media Expo 2007. The Expo, the annual convention of the Entertainment Merchants Association (EMA), will be held on Monday, July 16, through Thursday, July 19, at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“This is an outstanding opportunity for retailers to share their success stories,” said IDEA president Jim Loperfido said. “In addition to gaining recognition, recipients of the Retailer of the Year awards go on to serve as model establishments for other retailers and can provide a great deal of guidance for stores that are seeking to increase profitability. The list of past winners is truly a snapshot of the best minds and operations in video retail.”
In addition, the IDEA Chairman's Award will honor specific accomplishments of a store in areas such as category development, sellthrough, tanning and games.
IDEA's Retailer of the Year Awards is held in addition to the awards presented by EMA in the Large Video Store Chain (50+ stores) and International Retailer (non-U.S. video stores) categories.
