DVD product will comprise almost 35 percent of inventory in Tower Records' newest retail location, which opens tomorrow in Tempe, Ariz. The 12,000-square-foot store, with 25 employees, will offer more than 100,000 DVD and CD titles, which will be available to sample on touch screen listening and viewing stations.
Tower, which posted a return to profitability last year following a three-year financial restructuring plan, opened a 14,000-square-foot store in Seattle in December, the first new retail location since emerging from bankruptcy.
The company owns 90 stores and licenses the brand to another 144 locations in nine countries.
“This is an exciting time for us at Tower Records,” said Kevin Cassidy, EVP of retail. “This new Tempe location continues our trend of opening and refurbishing stores in Tower's key markets.”
