DVD Boosts Universal Revenue

The theatrical and DVD success of Seabiscuit, Johnny English, Bruce Almighty and 2 Fast 2 Furious helped Universal Pictures Group to a 15 percent increase in revenue for 2003 compared with 2002, the company reported.

Also boosting the bottom line were DVD releases of Scarface and Animal House.

The company attributed a 32 percent revenue boost in the fourth quarter of 2003 to the DVD performance of Seabiscuit, Scarface, 2 Fast 2 Furious, Bruce Almighty and The Hulk.
