Documentary DVD supplier Docurama has cut a three-year first-look deal with Shadow Distribution that gives it the opportunity to license home video rights to all films Shadow acquires for theatrical distribution.
The first wave of DVD releases are filmmaker Judy Irving's The Wild Parrots of Telegraph Hill, coming in January 2006, and Touch the Sound (summer 2006), a festival favorite from Thomas Riedelsheimer.
Also in the pipeline with no release date is Liz Mermin's The Beauty Academy of Kabul, not yet in theaters.
Docurama and Shadow Distribution's first joint venture was last year's The Weather Underground, an Oscar nominee that went on to become one of Docurama's top-selling titles of 2004.
