Disney's Mulan Comes to Special Edition DVD Oct. 26

19 Apr, 2004 By: Holly J. Wagner

Mulan's heroic quest will earn her a special edition DVD for the first time Oct. 26, when Buena Vista Home Entertainment releases a two-disc DVD set.

The animated adventure is based on a Chinese folktale in which a young girl becomes a national hero after she poses as a boy to join the army, defend her country from invading Huns and honor her family's name.

The title brought in $120.6 million at the box office after its 1998 release.

The studio would not confirm the date or discuss details, so prebook and pricing information were not available. The title was trailered on Ghosts of the Abyss.

Bonus materials will be similar to those offered on the Aladdin two-disc set when it streets Oct. 5. The Mulan release is slated to include digitally remastered picture and sound, games, behind-the-scenes featurettes and unreleased footage.
