The Laserline Co. today announced the acquisition of the Laserline brand from MeadWestvaco Corp. Ruskin Capital Company and Crean Gallagher LLC formed The Laserline Co. for the purpose of acquiring Laserline, a brand of audio, CD, DVD and CD-ROM storage products.
Laserline's plastic portable storage products transport, organize and protect CD, DVD, and CD-ROM collections. The Media Zone Rapid Transfer System allows safe transfer of disks between home storage and portable storage units. Nylon portable storage products include wallets, albums, and player cases. Storage Towers made of wire, wood, or a wood/wire combination provide storage solutions for home and office. The products are available at major music, electronic, and computer outlets.
William E. Mooar, president of Ruskin Capital Company, is president of The Laserline Co. He was previously president of Coast Manufacturing Company, a national marketer of audio/video storage systems, as well as president of Forward Industries and Global Household Brands.
Media storage veteran Ed Dougherty is partner and EVP at Laserline. He formerly held VP/sales and marketing positions with storage market leaders Case Logic, Inc. and Creative Point Inc./Laserline. Dougherty previously held several management positions at Capitol Records.

Crean Gallagher is a Stamford, Connecticut-based private equity investor. Ruskin Capital Company, also headquartered in Stamford, develops divestiture opportunities for underperforming brands.
