After taking theaters by storm, Dimension Films' stylish adaptation of Frank Miller's popular Sin City graphic novel is aiming to become an equally exciting home video release.

Buena Vista Home Entertainment is bringing Sin City to DVD Aug. 16 (prebook July 5) for $29.99. Extras include a production featurette and storyboards.

The film was co-directed by Robert Rodriguez (Desperado, Spy Kids) and Miller, with “special guest director” Quentin Tarantino. The action takes place in the fictional Sin City, a haven for criminals, crooked cops and sexy dames, some looking for revenge, some seeking redemption.

Rodriguez's passion for the source material has resulted in a faithful recreation of Miller's world, complete with stylish visuals and the graphic novel's unique mix of color and black-and-white imagery.

The all-star cast includes Bruce Willis, Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Michael Madsen, Josh Hartnett and Elijah Wood. Still going strong since hitting the big screen April 1, Sin City has grossed more than $71 million domestically and was the top grossing film in April.

The 124 minute film is rated ‘R' for sustained strong stylized violence, nudity and sexual content including dialogue.
