Increased demand for budget-priced DVD (and VHS) product helped Diamond Entertainment Corp. post fourth quarter (ended Dec. 31) net income of $368,000 on revenue of $2.6 million, compared to $341,000 on revenue of $1.9 million during the same period last year.
Walnut, Calif.-based Diamond, which does business as e-DMEC, boasts a catalog of 1950s to 1960s action, horror, westerns, nature, religious, sports, cartoon and TV DVD titles, among others, that retail on the company's Web site for less than $10. Mass-merchant clients include Deerfield, Ill.-based Walgreens. A company spokesperson declined comment.
