Buena Vista Home Entertainment president Bob Chapek has been re-elected president of DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group, the DVD advocacy group, and will begin his fourth year-long term Aug. 1.
Mike Fidler, SVP of home products for Sony Electronics, has been re-elected VP of DEG. Also elected VP was Peter Staddon, EVP of marketing for Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.
Sanford Friedman, head of worldwide operations for DreamWorks Home Entertainment, has been re-elected CFO, while Stephen Einhorn, president and COO of New Line Home Entertainment, has been re-elected secretary.
DEG also will begin its fiscal year Aug. 1 with three new associate members: AGI Media, JVC Disc and Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory.
Chapek was appointed president of what was then the DVD Entertainment Group in 2002, finishing out the term vacated by Warner Home Video's Steve Nickerson when Nickerson was transferred out of the country. He was subsequently elected president and helped orchestrate the organization's name change and broadening of focus to include all forms of digital entertainment.
