Deadpool 'Deadpool' Tops Disc Sales for Third Week

Fox’s 'Deadpool' remained the top home video seller for the third consecutive week, despite four new theatrical films coming to Blu-ray Disc and DVD during the week — all of which ended up in the top 10 on the national sales charts for the week ended May 29.

Report: Domestic Consumer SVOD Spending to Decline in 2016

Consumer spending in the United States on subscription streaming video service is expected to decline almost 2% this year to $1.19 billion, from $1.21 billion in 2015, according to data from British research firm Strategy Analytics. While the percentage drop is small, the dollar amount tops $20 million — underscoring Netflix and Amazon Prime Video’s decision to expand globally.

With the 2016 presidential election entering its final six months, Hulu June 1 announced it has secured exclusive streaming rights to “Race for the White House,” a six-part CNN Original Series narrated by Kevin Spacey (“House of Cards”).

UltraFlix Expands to Roku 2 & 3 Devices

UltraFlix, the 4K UHD streaming service, is now available on Roku 2 and Roku 3 HD streaming media devices. The SVOD service, owned by San Jose, Calif.-based NanoTech Entertainment, launched last December on the Roku 4 player. The UltraFlix app is available on 4K Smart TVs from Samsung, Sony, Vizio, HiSense and others.
