Court Rules in Favor of Disney in Suit for Court Fees

16 Mar, 2005 By: Angelique Flores

A Los Angeles County judge Monday ruled in favor of the Walt Disney Co., which was seeking court-related costs from the heirs of Stephen Slesinger, the Los Angeles Times reported. Although Disney was seeking $1,083,057, the judged awarded the company $250,000.

In 1991, Shirley Slesinger Lasswell and her daughter, Patricia Slesinger, sued Disney, claiming the company had cheated them out of hundreds of millions of dollars in royalties for the sales of videotapes, computer software and other Pooh merchandise.

Last year, the Slesingers lost the case when a judge ruled the Slesingers had committed misconduct.
