Concert Hot Spot Focuses on HD

1 Aug, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf

A new entertainment company, Concert Hot Spot, is focused on creating music-centric content solely for the two high-definition formats now in the market.

The first two titles streeted in June on HD DVD and in July on Blu-ray with A View from Space With Heavenly Music, featuring compositions from Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, Vivaldi and others set to scenes shot by astronauts on the space shuttle Endeavor.

A Guitarscape Planet Featuring Muriel Anderson includes a performance from the guitar virtuoso set to nature images.

Arriving Sept. 26 on Blu-ray and HD DVD ($34.99 each) is The New Orleans Concert, shot in 2004 including performances from Bonnie Raitt, Joss Stone, Keith Richards, Aaron Neville, The Neville Brothers and others. The HD DVD version will be a dual-layer hybrid playable in a standard definition DVD player.

All releases have Dolby Digital Plus audio.
