Comcast to Utilize P2P Technology19 May, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey
Under federal investigation for blocking their customers' access to file-sharing services, Comcast Corp. is now reportedly investing in peer-to-peer technologies.
The Associated Press reported May 19 that Seattle-based GridNetworks would be working with the second-largest ISP operator in the United States to develop peer-to-peer file sharing techniques.
Comcast came under investigation by the Federal Communications Commission last year after many consumers complained that their Internet traffic was blocked when they used file-sharing services.
Comcast CTO Tony Werner told the AP that the company was “working hard” with technology companies to address file-sharing Internet traffic concerns.
