Comcast Selling Disney Digital Movies

Comcast on April 5 announced that it has entered into a content licensing agreement with The Walt Disney Studios to start offering a selection of digital library titles and new releases, including 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' through its Xfinity On Demand digital store.

Starz Bows Subscription Streaming Service App

Starz April 5 formally launched its eponymous standalone subscription-streaming app featuring access to more than 2,400 titles on a monthly basis for $8.99. Content includes original series such as "Black Sails," "Outlander," "The Girlfriend Experience," "Power" "Survivor’s Remorse," "Blunt Talk" and "Ash vs Evil Dead," as well as the first Starz Original movie, 'The Dresser.' It also includes Disney’s 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' and, later this year, 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens.'

Twitter Gets 10 NFL Thursday Night Football Games

In a surprise, Twitter April 5 announced it will stream 10 NFL Thursday Night Football games in the upcoming season. The social media app beat out a host of online behemoths for the rights, including Amazon, Facebook, Verizon and Yahoo. CBS and NBC control TV broadcast rights.
