Alison Biggers has been promoted to the newly created position of VP of Worldwide DVD Marketing for Columbia TriStar Home Entertainment (CTHE), said Lexine Wong, CTHE's EVP of Worldwide Marketing, to whom Biggers will report.

Biggers, who was executive director of Marketing for Catalog and DVD Product, is charged with coordinating CHTE's worldwide DVD production process from scheduling to master completion. She will also be responsible for developing global DVD strategies and will work closely with Wong to create and implement strategic marketing programs. Additionally, she will work closely with CTHE's marketing groups to coordinate programming and to develop cross-promotional opportunities and partnerships.

"DVD has changed the landscape of the worldwide home entertainment industry and has given us new opportunities to market our packaged media goods. It is critical to respond quickly and appropriately to the changing market variables to manage a successful worldwide DVD business," Wong said. "Alison's marketing skills and experience have been key to CTHE's DVD success and will ensure that the DVD production process is managed with a sales and marketing point-of-view. I am, therefore, delighted, to be able to publicly acknowledge Alison's contributions and our confidence in her abilities with this promotion."

Biggers, an alumna of UCLA, began her career in the home entertainment business as part of the marketing group of MGM Home Entertainment. She joined CTHE in 1999 as director of marketing for Catalog Product.
