Columbia House Gets Mileage From DVD

Columbia House is offering an incentive of 3,000 bonus miles to Delta Sky Miles program members who sign up for the Columbia House DVD Club.

Long known for its music offerings, Columbia House now does about 75 percent of its business in DVDs.

“We expect our partnership with Columbia House to be popular, since our ‘on-the-go' members can now earn miles while ordering DVDs for themselves or as a gift online or via the telephone,” said Christine Pierce, Delta's director of partnership marketing. “Additionally, this partnership is a great way for members to build a DVD collection to watch on their laptop computers while in-flight or while in the airport.”

SkyMiles program members may enroll in the Columbia House DVD Club/SkyMiles program online at SkyMilesforDVDs.com or delta.com/enroll. Upon enrolling in the club, SkyMiles members receive one DVD for $4.95 and agree to buy five more at the club's regular price from a selection of more than 5,000 titles over a two-year period. Members may purchase three additional DVDs for $9.95 at the time of enrollment, but those don't apply toward their club commitment.

After the first purchase, members receive 1,500 bonus miles; they get another 1,500 bonus miles after purchasing five more qualifying DVDs over the next two years.

“Columbia House welcomes Delta's SkyMiles program members to its extremely popular DVD Club,” said Terry Macko, SVP of new member marketing. “SkyMiles program members are busy people, and this promotion provides them with an excellent opportunity to earn thousands of miles while enjoying great savings when they purchase newly released DVDs or must-have classics.”
