17 Dec, 2008 By: Chris Tribbey

College football fans can catch the Jan. 8 BCS National Championship game in 3-D at theaters nationwide, digital cinema company Cinedigm announced Dec. 17.

Sony, Fox Sports, 3ality Digital and Cinedigm are working together to bring the game in 3-D to theaters in 35 states. Distributed via satellite, the presentation will be available in multiplexes that have digital capabilities. Tickets can be purchased for $18 to $22, and theaters can be found by visiting www.cinedigmentertainment.com.

“We are changing the way the public enjoys movie theaters,” said Cinedigm CEO and chairman Bud Mayo. “Our growing national network of 80-plus top-quality theaters can help expand both the audience for sporting events, creating new revenue opportunities for sponsors and exhibitors, while giving more entertainment options to the average family.”
