Classic Film Fans Make Warner DVD Decisions2 Sep, 2004 By: Lyndsey Shinoda
Warner Home Video and Turner Classic Movies have paired for the second year to sanction movie buffs to choose a new group of timeless films to be released on DVD.
The promotion, DVD Decision 2004, gave fans the chance to vote online for their five favorites of 20 classics from the Warner library. Voting took place on the Turner Classic Movies Web site in July, with all 20 films airing that month on TCM.
After tallying 140,000 votes, the results are in, and the top five are: The Letter, King Solomon's Mines, Ice Station Zebra, Ivanhoe and Random Harvest.
Warner Home Video will debut the winning films on DVD in January 2005 and in addition to remastering all of them, will add bonus features and special content.
