Circuit City Says Yes to ‘Scene It?' With Exclusive Sales Deal

Circuit City will put the Scene It? DVD game ahead of its competitors in a deal that will have the electronics retailer selling the newest version of the game, the TV Edition, exclusively for a month.

“We anticipate Scene It? TV Edition to be one of the hottest games in stores this holiday season,” said Dave Long, CEO and co-founder of Screenlife, the company that makes the game. “Everyone has their favorite TV shows from the past and present, so it will be a great game for the entire family to sit down and play together.”

“Consumer interest in television show DVDs is growing, and we feel that growth will translate into excitement for the new Scene It? TV Edition game,” said Clif Denney, SVP, general merchandise manager for Circuit City. “We are pleased Screenlife has chosen Circuit City to introduce the game to consumers.”

The Scene It? TV Edition games will be available exclusively in Circuit City stores through September before becoming available in other stores in October. The new edition is built around trivia questions and clips from more than 100 TV shows, including “Mad About You,” “Charlie's Angels,” “Leave it to Beaver,” “Happy Days,” “M*A*S*H,” and “24.”

The game contains a DVD with more than 700 on-screen challenges, 600 trivia card questions, a proprietary expandable game board and TV-themed collectible game pieces. It is priced at $44.99. The game is built around clips licensed from 20th Century Fox Film Corp., Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, TV Guide and Universal Studios.

In October 2004, Scene It? TV Edition will be available through other national department and specialty stores, as well as online at www.sceneit.com.
