Cinram 3Q Profit Up, Despite DVD Price Cuts

Replication company Cinram International Income Fund posted third quarter (ended Sept. 30) income of $34.8 million, compared to income of $15.3 million during the same period last year. The Toronto-based company said DVD revenue fell 5%, to $226 million, despite a 3% increase in disc production. CD production fell 14%.

Revenue from high-definition disc replication increased to $5.2 million, compared to $1.6 million last year.

Overall revenue topped $485 million, compared to $477 million last year.
