Cine Magnetics Video & Digital Laboratories will buy the Pensacola, Fla.-based facilities of optical media manufacturer US DigitalMedia for an undisclosed sum.
US DigitalMedia's facility in Pensacola will be shut down, its equipment will be dismantled and transported to Cine Magnetics' primary facility in Armonk, which is is devoted to video duplication, optical media replication, DVD & VOD authoring and compression. Chai Bhat, Cine's director of optical engineering, will supervise the move, said Cine Magnetics president Joseph Barber.
Cine Magnetics has received approval from the Armonk Town Planning Board to expand its 64,000-square-foot building. With temporary space allocated within Cine Magnetics' main facility, US DigitalMedia's optical replication lines and silkscreen disc printing equipment will augment the company's growing CD and DVD replication business.
Cine Magnetics was founded in 1961 with facilities in Armonk and Studio City, Calif., and branch offices in New York and New England.
The company alsp provides language replacement and subtitling, custom package design and printing, toll-free phone inbound order capturing, electronic credit card processing, database management, e-commerce integration and distribution services for entertainment, business, industry, education and special interest organizations.
