CBS All Access, the $5.99 monthly subscription-streaming service, is considering offering ad-free service, CBS CEO Les Moonves told analysts on the company’s Nov. 3 fiscal call.

Cablevision Loses 111,000 Video Subs

Cablevision Nov. 3 reported a third-quarter (ended Sept. 30) loss of 111,000 video subscribers to finish the period with 2.6 million. The New York-based cable operator ended the previous-year period with 2.71 million.

Technicolor Buying Cinram

Paris-based Technicolor had sought to acquire the North American replication and distribution of packaged-media (DVD and Blu-ray Disc) contracts of two major unnamed domestic studios. Instead it has agreed to acquire the North American disc manufacturing and distribution assets of fiscally-challenged Cinram Group — holder of the coveted studio contracts.
