Casio's Pocket PC Boasts 10 Hours of Continuous Movie Play

Casio Pocket PC E-200 -- running Windows Media Player using Pretec 640MB CF card -- will be shown Thursday at a Pocket PC launch hosted by Microsoft, for up to 10-hour continuous play of movies.

Demonstrating its expandability, the Pocket PC has gone beyond storing names and phone numbers to become a powerful productivity and entertainment tool, according to a Pretec press release.

Microsoft Windows Media Video 8.0 improves compression efficiency an additional 30% over the technically-acclaimed Windows MediaFormat 7.0. The new Windows Media Video 8.0 deliversthe same quality as MP3 at nearly one-third the size.

To take advantage of the new audio and video quality of Windows Media Video 8.0, and make the best use of theexpansion capability of Casio Pocket PC E-200 withCompactFlash Type II slot, users can put personal entertainment in their pocket and listen to audio or watch video anytime and anywhere.

With storage capacity comparable to about a CD-ROM size, Pretec 640MB CompactFlash card helps enable the device to carry many possibilities, Pretec says.
