In its first year giving awards for DVD extras, a panel at the Cannes Film Festival selected 10 titles for its "Collection DVD 2002" list.
To reach its decisions, the selection committee considered participation of the filmmaker in the DVD edition of the movie and the creativity and historical value of the bonus materials.
The following DVDs were chosen from titles proposed by the studios and were selected on the basis of artistic and technical merits and bonus materials.

Blanche Neige et les Sept Nains by David Hand (Buena Vista HE - Zone 2)
Cleopatra by Joseph L. Mankiewicz (Fox Path? Europa – zone 2)
Le Fabuleux Destin d'Am?lie Poulain by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (Tf1 Vid?o – zone 2) (released in the U.S. as Amelie)
In the Mood for Love by Wong Kar Wai (Oc?an Films – zone 2)
Bleu, Blanc, Rouge, la Trilogie by Krzysztof Kieslowski (MK2 Editions –zone 2)
Moulin Rouge by Baz Luhrmann (Fox Path? Europa – zone 2)
Requiem For a Dream by Darren Aronofsky (Studio Canal Vid?o – zone 2)
The Usual Suspects by Bryan Singer (MGM Home Entertainment – zone 1)
L'int?grale by Jean Vigo (Gaumont Columbia Tristar –zone 2)
The selection committee comprised Bernard Achour (Les Ann?es Laser), G?rard Delorme (Premi?re), Patrick Fabre (Studio), Gilles Gressard (DVD Mania), and Scott Hettrick (Video Premieres).
