Canadian pay-TV network Super Channel has extended its licensing deal with Starz Worldwide Distribution, allowing the channel to bring the shows “Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Magic City,” “The White Queen” and “Black Sails,” along with Starz movies, to its subscribers.
“Da Vinci’s Demons” and the second season of “Magic City” will have their Canadian premiere June 14. The new agreement between Super Channel and Starz will also bring VH1’s “Hit the Floor” to the channel later this year.
“Super Channel is very pleased to significantly expand our licensing business with Starz and bring several of the crown jewels of its original programming in an exclusive deal for our Canadian subscribers,” said Sandy Perkins, VP of programming at Super Channel.
Gene George, EVP of worldwide distribution for Starz, added: “We have maintained a long and fruitful relationship with Super Channel and are really excited to solidify that relationship with this multi-year commitment.”
