Canada Gets $400 Million Netflix Content Pledge

Speaking Sept. 28 at the Economic Club of Canada in Ottawa, Canadian government official Mélanie Joly said Netflix had pledged $500 million (Canadian) over the next five years for local (French and English) content production. The subscription streaming video pioneer also promises to produce locally.

'Cars 3' at NASCAR Hall of Fame

Disney and NASCAR Sept. 28 brought ‘Cars 3’ to the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C., with an exhibit featuring a life-size Lightning McQueen, hands-on activities and 16 displays about real-life NASCAR personalities who contributed their voices to the film. The exhibit runs through May 2018. Disney releases the film on Digital HD Oct. 24 and on DVD, Blu-ray and 4K UHD Blu-ray Nov. 7.
