Cablevision Adds Food Network, HGTV Free Offerings

Cablevision Systems Corp. has added Food Network shows such as “30 Minute Meals With Rachel Ray” and “Giada's Weekend Getaways,” and HGTV shows such as “House Hunters” and “Selling Secrets,” to its free video-on-demand offerings.

The programming is available to Cablevision customers with a set-top box through the Free on Demand menu on the iO TV digital cable service interface. Cablevision claims more than 2.6 million iO TV customers (approximately 84% of its cable customers).

“Cablevision continues to enhance our free VOD offering by adding quality, branded content from the most popular cable television networks, in addition to the kind of local programming that isn't available from any other provider,” said John Trierweiler, Cablevision's SVP of product management.
