Buena Vista Delivers 'Sky High'1 Nov, 2005 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Buena Vista Home Entertainment is looking to capitalize on the fourth-biggest pizza delivery day of the year (the night before Thanksgiving) with its campaign for Sky High.
Ads for the Nov. 29 DVD/UMD release of the family comedy ($29.99) will appear on pizza boxes of independent pizzerias nationwide.
Sky High reunites Kurt Russell with his Disney child actor roots as The Commander, a superhero dad who with superhero mom Jetstream (Kelly Preston) are raising a non-superhero son, Will Stronghold (Michael Angarano). Even worse, Will attends Sky High, a secret school in the clouds for “kids with superhuman powers going through crime-fighting puberty.”
The promotion, which runs from Nov. 14 to Dec. 14, is targeted at families with children ages 6 to 11 — 42 percent of whom reportedly consume pizza every three days, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
