Blockbuster Starts Renting Game Boy Advance June 15

Nintendo's new edition of its handheld gaming system, Game Boy Advance, along with 17 new games, will be available for rental at participatingBlockbuster stores beginning June 15.

Blockbuster will offer customers a hardware/software package, a 5-day rental of Game Boy Advance hardware and two Game Boy Advance games for$14.99, plus tax and deposit required for hardware rental.

"By making this new system available for rental, Blockbuster customers will be able to use the hardware and see all the features before they decide to purchase," said Brian Woodrick, director of interactive merchandising for Blockbuster. "It also gives gamers access to a wide variety of games for their system."

Blockbuster will carry 15 new game titles for Game Boy Advance at launch, including Super Mario Advance, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 2 and F Zero Maximum Velocity, as well as many of the 80 titles scheduled for release before Christmas.

Game Boy Advance hardware is also compatible with all Game Boy and Game Boy Color games, which are also available for rent at Blockbuster.
