Blockbuster Raises Rates for Total Access20 Dec, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey
Some of the 3 million subscribers to Blockbuster's Total Access service will see price increases to their plans beginning next week.
The rental company, which has been battling rival Netflix in the DVD-by-mail business, sent e-mails to affected customers Dec. 20.
Blockbuster did not say how many customers will be affected, however subscribers who were paying $17.99 a month will have a $2 increase in their subscription price and subscribers to the $24.99 plan will see a $10 increase. Subscribers to the most basic plan will see a decrease of $1.
“This adjustment will go into effect on your next billing cycle on or after December 27, 2007,” the letter stated.
