Blockbuster Adds Games to Total Access19 Dec, 2006 By: Erik Gruenwedel
Blockbuster Inc.'s highly touted online/in-store DVD rental service Total Access will now allow subscribers to rent up to 12 video games for free on an annual basis.
The service, which bowed in November with Jessica Simpson as Total Access' first celebrity subscriber, allows Blockbuster Online members to return online rentals to Blockbuster stores in exchange for free in-store rentals.
Blockbuster rental plans range from $5.99 per month (one movie) to $17.99 per month for three movies out at a time.
Now, subscribers can use their monthly free in-store movie rental e-coupon for video games as well. The coupons can be used regardless if subscribers have not returned outstanding movies.
“In addition to watching as many movies as they can in a month, Total Access members can now use their monthly free e-coupon to try out any of the hottest game titles at participating Blockbuster stores,” said Shane Evangelist, SVP and GM for Blockbuster Online.
