BitTorrent, Orb Bring Downloads to Connected Devices

22 May, 2008 By: Billy Gil

P2P media purveyor BitTorrent has partnered with streaming media company Orb Networks to enable BitTorrent downloads on connected devices. Bundled BitTorrent and Orb PC applications would appear as a singular media library on the home computer, accessible on such connected devices as smartphones, Sony's PS3, Microsoft's Xbox 360 and the Nintendo Wii.

“The idea of the ‘connected home' or ‘connected consumer' is certainly not a new one, but Orb's innovative software has truly delivered on that promise and made it a reality,” said Doug Walker, CEO of BitTorrent. “By bundling BitTorrent's leading content delivery technology with Orb's software, we are arming consumers with the ability to access their entire library of digital entertainment and play back on devices in the home or on the go.”

The bundled applications can be found at www.orb.com/bittorrent or www.bittorrent.com.
