Steve Beeks, president of Artisan Home Entertainment, will head the home video arm of the Lions Gate Entertainment following its acquisition of Artisan, sources say.
Beeks' second in command will be Glenn Ross, who sources say will head marketing as well as continue to lead the Family Home Entertainment division.
Peter Block, formerly, president of home entertainment, new media and acquisitions at Lions Gate, will continue his role in production, acquisitions and distribution for the new company.
Three top Artisan executives will not be part of the new company, sources say. They are Jeff Fink, president of sales and marketing; Bob Denton, COO; and Hosea Belcher, SVP of marketing.
Ron Schwartz, who currently heads sales for Lions Gate, will be a senior sales executive with the new company, sources say, as will Jed Grossman, currently Artisan's EVP of sales.
Executives at the company had no official comment for this article.
Lions Gate Entertainment announced the completion of the acquisition of Artisan Entertainment yesterday. The move creates a super-indie that could release upwards of 100 titles in calendar 2004, including 17 theatrical films and a strong supply of family, fitness and special-interest product.
