Beach Boys Get in Touch With Satan10 Aug, 2008 By: Billy Gil
The Beach Boys may be best known as the sunshine-pop purveyors of classic songs such as “California Girls” and albums such as Pet Sounds, but a dark underside to the famously troubled group existed as well. MVD Visual Sept. 30 (prebook Aug. 26) releases The Beach Boys and the Satan (DVD $19.95), a 1997 film about drummer Dennis Wilson's involvement with Charles Manson and his cult. The film was originally released in 1997 and has been unavailable for some time, according to MVD. It explores the connections between the group and controversial characters of the period such as Anton La Vey.
