Barnes & Noble reported holiday sales for the nine-week holiday period ended Jan. 3 were $1.1 billion, down 5.2% from the same period in fiscal 2007. Comparable-store sales were down 7.7% for the period. And for the 48 weeks ended Jan. 3, store sales were down 2.6% to $4.2 billion, with comparable-store sales down 5.4% from the same period the previous fiscal year.
