Bader Upped At MGM Pix31 Jan, 2002 By: Hive News
MGM Pictures has elevated Jonathan Bader to EVP -- Business Affairs, a post in which he will oversee theatrical business and legal affairs for the film unit and will supervise all aspects of negotiations, including all talent, production, and rights issues. Bader also will oversee financing, split rights, and other acquisition agreements.
Bader will report to, , MGM Pictures president and COO Michael Nathanson and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer SEVP and General Counsel Jay Rakow.
"Jonathan is a superb dealmaker with exceptional credibility in the entertainment business and legal arena," Nathanson said. "He has demonstrated exemplary skill and commitment in managing our theatrical business affairs, and we are pleased to recognize his talent and diligence with this well-deserved promotion."
Bader joined MGM Pictures in 1999 as SVP -- Business Affairs. He came to MGM from Interscope Communications, Inc., where as SVP -- Business Affairs, he had complete oversight of the company's Business and Legal Affairs department. Prior to Interscope, he spent eight years at Paramount Pictures Corporation, serving VP -- Business Affairs. While at Paramount, he was in charge of acquisitions and business affairs for the Home Entertainment Group.
