Back to the Toy Chest

2 May, 2005 By: John Latchem

Fresh on the heels of the announcement of Toy Story 3 going into production, Buena Vista Home Entertainment takes another look at Buzz and Woody's original 1995 adventure, a landmark for computer-animated films.

Disney and Pixar's first feature-length collaboration is being re-released as the Toy Story — 10th Anniversary Edition ($29.95), debuting as a two-disc set Sept. 6 (prebook July 26) with a bevy of new extras.

The first disc will contain the film with a higher digital bit rate and a new Dolby 5.1 sound mix, as well as a commentary track, an all-new “Legacy of Toy Story” featurette and a sneak peek at Pixar's next feature, Cars. The second disc includes a new “Making of Toy Story” featurette, deleted scenes, music videos and other behind-the-scenes materials.
