AVN Summit Nixed; VIP Program Launches15 Aug, 2006 By: Jessica Wolf
The AVN Industry Summit originally planned for next month in Palm Springs, Calif., has been canceled. However, key adult product buyers attending the January 2007 AVN Adult Entertainment Expo will get the red-carpet treatment next year.
AVN and show organizers Home Entertainment Events (owned by Home Media Retailing parent company Questex) announced the launch of VIBE (Very Important Business Executive).
The new VIBE program takes the place of the nixed AVN Industry Summit and will be offered at the Expo, which will be held in Las Vegas, Jan. 10-13, overlapping with the Consumer Electronics Show Jan. 8-11.
VIBE invitation-only participants will have access to a private lounge with business services, meeting rooms and complimentary meals. They also will get concierge services, travel-planning assistance, VIP ground transportation, priority registration and hotel check-in, tickets to the AVN Awards Show, and VIP access to the AVN Industry Party.
"As we looked at how best to meet the needs of the industry, we talked to key stakeholders on both the supply side and buyer side and determined that, while many were willing to participate in the AVN Summit, it would be preferable at this time to enhance the Expo experience for them,” noted Paul Fishbein, president of AVN. “The new VIBE program gives the big buyers that enhanced experience while not cluttering their calendars further.”
