21 May, 2002 By: Holly J. Wagner

Artisan Home Entertainment has signed a multiyear agreement making Cinram International, Inc. its exclusive DVD replicator the United States.

Cinram was already providing Artisan's VHS duplication and distribution to more than 12,000 retailers in the U.S.

“Cinram has an outstanding and well deserved reputation for manufacturing product of the highest quality, which the company has demonstrated with Artisan's VHS catalog," said Steve Beeks, president of Artisan Home Entertainment. “We are pleased to enter into this agreement, which continues our relationship and assures that both our DVD and VHS products are manufactured and distributed at the highest standards possible."

Cinram will immediately begin manufacturing all of Artisan's DVD titles, including upcoming releases such as the Reservoir Dogs 10th Anniversary special edition, the animated film featuring Mattel's Barbie as Rapunzel, and the recent theatrical release National Lampoon's Van Wilder.

"We are delighted that Artisan has signed a multiyear DVD manufacturing agreement with Cinram," said Isidore Philosophe, chairman and CEO of Cinram. "This agreement will capitalize on our unique services, where both VHS and DVD are manufactured and distributed together in our newly expanded state of the art facility in Huntsville, Alabama."

Cinram's familiarity with Artisan's library of more than 7,000 titles plus the one-stop convenience is expected to provide Artisan with a greater economy of scale and decrease the need for vendor management activity.
