In this one, Barbie stars as Odette, a brave young girl in 19th-century Germany who is trapped in an enchanted forest and, through an exciting adventure with her new friends, discovers that with confidence and determination each of us has the power to transform the world. The film combines fantasy, ballet and the composer Tchaikovsky's unforgettable music as performed by the London Symphony Orchestra.

Swan Lake also features voice talent from Kelsey Grammer (evil Rothbart) and Maggie Wheeler (Rothbart's daughter Odile).

DVD extras will include a dance review, a music documentary, a look at the stars of the film, widescreen and full-screen versions and child-friendly tutoring help on navigating the menus with a remote. The disc also will act as a DVD-ROM demo for the Barbie of Swan Lake CD-ROM game being released in September as well.
