Apple Stays Mum on iPhone and iTunes Movie Sales

Apple stayed quiet about how many iPhones it has sold, as well as how many movies it has sold on its iTunes service, during a financial call regarding its third quarter, ended June 30.

Apple did report a 21% increase in iPod sales over the same period last year, topping 9.8 million iPods sold in the quarter, as well as a 33% revenue growth over the same period last year for “other music related products and services,” which includes iTunes Store sales, iPod services, and Apple-branded and third-party iPod accessories.

Apple posted revenue of $5.41 billion and net quarterly profit of $818 million, compared to revenue of $4.37 billion and net quarterly profit of $472 million during the same period last year.
