Apex Digital Inc., the market-share leader in low-end DVD players, is set to launch its own game console at the consumer electronics show.
The new ApeXtreme platform will let gamers play PC games on their TV sets, ushering a range of PC-based games into the living room.
The company will reportedly offer two versions of the console: one priced at $299 and another with better graphics technology for $399. Both will run on an embedded Microsoft Windows XP operating system. Software for the systems will be loaded on DVD drives and stored to the units' hard drives.
