AOL Updates Video Site2 Jul, 2007 By: Chris Tribbey
AOL upgraded its video portal (video.aol.com) July 2, with a redesigned home page and an upgraded search feature that grabs more than 20 million videos from across the Web.
AOL is also making available a Windows Vista-ready sidebar that allows users to watch AOL Video content while using other applications. The gadget features five categories — comedy, business, news, music and movies — and sorts videos based on how popular they are.
“Online video consumption is likely the fastest growing behavior in the history of the Internet,” said AOL Video SVP Fred McIntyre. “Consumers want just one place where they can go to find and watch all of the videos they're looking for.”
