AOL Members Pick Top DVDs

23 Dec, 2003 By: Hive News

Members of America Online have made their voices heard once again, this time on the subject of the best DVDs of all time.

Visitors to AOL Movies cast nearly 50,000 votes for the top films on DVD from each decade to comprise the second annual “Ultimate DVD Collection.” AOL Movies teamed up with the editors of Entertainment Weekly to compile a list of popular DVDs from every decade, then AOL members selected one per decade and one for 2003.

The survey was again sponsored by Circuit City.

The winners were:

1920s: Nosferatu
1930s: The Wizard of Oz
1940s: It's a Wonderful Life
1950s: Rear Window
1960s: To Kill a Mockingbird
1970s: The Godfather DVD Collection
1980s: The Adventures of Indiana Jones
1990s: The Silence of the Lambs
2000s: The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
2003: The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
