Anthem Pictures Unveils DVD Slate

21 Feb, 2006 By: John Latchem

Anthem Pictures, primarily known for the production and authoring of DVDs, is moving into distribution.

The Southern California-based company has unveiled a slate of five films to be released during first-quarter 2006.

Due March 14 are the true crime thrillers The Boston Strangler and An Ordinary Killer, as well as Microwave Massacre, a cult classic regarded in some circles as the worst horror movie ever made. Arriving April 4 (prebook Feb. 28) is the modern-day Western Judges and the award-winning The Fallen, which will receive a limited theatrical run starting March 9.

The titles are $19.99, except Microwave Massacre, which is $14.99.

Founded in 1999, the company specialized in DVD authoring and post-production of indie titles. As part of the company's new long-term growth strategy, Anthem will acquire, produce and distribute genre-specific home entertainment features.
