A frizzy-haired girl with glasses who can talk to animals and has a monkey friend.

No, it's not a near-sighted Pippi Longstocking/Dr. Dolittle -- it's animated Eliza Thornberry and her simian pal Darwin in the animated $38.8 million box office kids' flick The Wild Thornberrys Movie.

The titles hits on VHS and DVD April 1 and prebooks Feb. 18. DVD is $19.95 (MAP), VHS is $14.95. It's rated 'PG' for some adventure peril.

The DVD has both full-screen and widescreen versions of the film, a music video for Paul Simon's "Father and Daughter," a playable demo of The Wild Thornberrys PC game and the theatrical trailer.

Vocal talent from the Nickelodeon show of the same name -- Lacey Chabert, Tim Curry and Flea, the wild bassist from the Red Hot Chili Peppers -- join Lynn Redgrave, Rupert Everett, Marisa Tomei, Alfre Woodard and Brenda Blethyn for this feature-length film.
