Anchor Bay, AOL to Release ‘Webisodes' for Kids on DVD2 May, 2005 By: John Latchem
Anchor Bay Entertainment will release 20 “webisodes” of the America Online series “Princess Natasha” on DVD.
AOL Kids & Teens SVP Malcolm Bird said the strategy is to make “Natasha” more accessible to kids beyond the Web.
Developed by Animation Collective, the tales of Natasha, a student secret agent, will be released in two sets of 10 episodes each. AOL also will develop two exclusive bonus episodes and two games for each DVD.
Licensing agency 360ep has come aboard to seek additional opportunities in all categories from bedding to apparel to toys.
AOL previously made arrangements for “Natasha” to move to television, thanks to a deal with Cartoon Network, and appear as a series of books from Little Brown Books for Young Readers.
