Analyst Projects Improvement for Blockbuster

The fiscal fortunes of Blockbuster Inc. are expected to improve considerably in September to coincide with a projected strong fourth quarter release slate of DVD and Blu-ray Disc titles, according to analyst Michael Pachter with Wedbush Morgan Securities in Los Angeles.

Report: 53% of U.S. Homes Own an HDTV

Aggressive marketing and special offers by consumer electronics manufacturers and retailers has contributed to 53% of U.S. households owning a high-definition television. That’s an 18% boost from 2008 when 35% of households reported owning an HDTV (23% in 2007), according to a new report.
